In order to complete the remaining 80 hours needed to finish the 160 hour program, Koby went to Austria in 1992, to study with Professor Hildegard Wittlinger, an original student of Dr. Vodder. This allowed her to begin working with lymphatic pathologies, achieving certification as Vodder trained in MLD and CDT (Combined Decongestive Therapy). She has continuously maintained her standing as a Vodder Therapist, by attending the Therapist Review, at least, every two years.
Since 1992, Koby has focused on treatment of Lymphatic pathologies that include treatment of lymphoedemas, pre and post surgical interventions, trauma, wound care, pre and post natal care.
Voted “Massage Therapist of the Year” in 2008 (by the RMTABC) Linda (Koby) Blanchfield is one of North America’s Pioneer Therapists in Dr. Vodder Manual Lymph Drainage. She graduated from the 2400 hour program of the West Coast College of Massage and Hydrotherapy (WCCMT), in 1990. She has continuously maintained a private clinical practice since that time.
While finishing her studies at WCCMT, she was first introduced to Dr. Vodder’s Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), by Robert Harris, Director of the Dr. Vodder Schools International. Intrigued by the research on this manual technique, she began applying MLD, and was impressed by the results.
Voted 'Massage Therapist of The Year' in 2008 by the RMTABC, Linda (Koby) Blanchfield is one of North America's Pioneer, Dr. Vodder MLD Instructor/Therapists.
In addition, to maintaining her clinical standards, Koby has accomplished four levels of teacher certification with the Dr. Vodder School/Dr. Vodder Akademie: Basic level achieved in 1995, Therapy 1 achieved in 2000, Therapy 2 & 3 achieved in 2010. She maintains her standing at an instructor by attending North American or International Teacher Meetings, usually once a year.
Koby’s students have been a variety of health care professionals from institutions, including the Mayo Clinic, Stanford University Hospital, Ottawa General, Jikei University School of Medicine, as well as those in smaller clinics and private practice.
Koby has enjoyed teaching all levels of classes in North America, Europe, Japan and Australia.
